The kitchen has a built in refrigerator/freezer that is elevated for easier access. There is a commercial stove with a convection oven, a very quiet Bosch dishwasher, a large microwave oven, all appliances are NSF approved, two separate sink areas. There is ample counter space with a large island and oak cabinets.
The spacious dining room features a unique plaster woodstove hearth created by a Crestone artisan as well as a soapstone stove, which can provide heat for the entire house. There are also Rinnae 99% efficient natural gas stoves in several rooms. The front rooms offer sunrise views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
Upstairs are solar gain windows to warm the house to 45 degrees even when there is no heat from wood or gas heat in use. Also upstairs one of the bedrooms is used as the wellness therapy room where you enter through Japanese paper screen doors for a tranquil relaxing massage or reflexology treatment. The other bedroom has a large walk-in closet and sunrise view of the Sangre de Cristos. In the meditation room you can find tranquility with the views through the bay windows on three sides. Upstairs also is a large bathroom. The master bedroom suite is located just off the mud room and has a large bathroom and walk in closet.
In back of the two car garage is a separate office. An apple orchard surrounds the 18x24 foot straw bale barn and has a wood fired hot tub. This property includes a horse corral with a feed shed all shaded by a large grandmother tree. Straw bale walls and custom wood gates surround the house with privacy yet do not block the incredible views. There is a tool shed and a large drive through gate. This house is located on a half-acre lot in the very corner of town, and has been a perfect get away for our guests.
